Optional Practical Training

F-1 students interested in having practical work experience in the U.S. after completing their academic program are encouraged to attend an OPT workshop or webinar.

Optional Practical Training (OPT) is temporary employment available to F-1 students. The employment must be related to the student's field of study and commensurate with the student's education level. F-1 students may be eligible for up to 12 months of OPT per degree level. Attend the OPT workshop or webinar to learn more about how to request this F-1 work authorization and how it can be utilized after graduation.


​OPT Workshops and Webinars for Fall 2022

Listed below are several opportunities for attending the OPT (Optional Practical Training) workshops and webinars. There are two options for attending the OPT webinar and in person workshop. These OPT workshops/webinars will include a full OPT presentation and Q&A afterwards. We will also provide several general employment webinars that will include a brief presentation on general employment followed by Q&A. These general employment webinars will have two breakout room. One for J-1 students and another for F-1 students. These webinars will adress broader questions related to employment, CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, etc. There will also be a webinar for STEM OPT.
