Tax Workshops for International Students

Tax Workshops for International Students

ISS will be hosting tax workshops during the Spring 2014 semester in order to assist international students with using the GLACIER Tax Prep software to file the appropriate tax form(s) with the U.S. government’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS). If you have never filed federal tax forms in the past, you are strongly encouraged to attend a tax workshop but you may also use the software on your own to file your tax forms. Visit the main ISS Tax Information webpage for more information.

ISS Tax Workshops are scheduled as follows.

  • Wednesday, February 26 – 5:30pm, Blocker 104
  • Monday, March 3 – 5:30pm, Blocker 104
  • *NEW* Thursday, March 6 – 6:00pm, Psychology 338 – This is a ‘bring your own computer’ webinar. The event will not take place in a computer lab, so you will need to bring your own computing device.
  • Wednesday, March 19 – 5:30pm, Student Computing Center 210F
  • Thursday, March 20 – 5:30pm, Student Computing Center 210F
  • Wednesday, April 9 – 5:30pm, Student Computing Center 102B

To register for any of the tax workshops, visit the Event Registration System website at and login with your net ID and password. You will be able to view all available ISS workshops through this site. When you register for a tax workshop, an email confirmation will be sent to your email. You can also view your registrations in the ‘My Registrations’ tab.

Please sign up for only ONE tax workshop. If you need to reschedule, please remember to cancel the workshop you no longer plan to attend so another student can have your spot.

What to bring:

  • All immigration documents (i.e. passport, visa, I-94 if you have one, I-20/DS-2019, approval notices, etc.) for you and any immigration dependents. Your immigration dependents are not required to attend but they are welcome to do so.
  • All tax-related documents you have received for any U.S. sourced income you may have received during 2013. For a list of the documents you may have received, visit our Frequently Asked Questions webpage.

If you are unable to attend a tax workshop, please note that we are in the process of scheduling a tax webinar so you can obtain the same interactive assistance in an online format. We hope to have the information posted about the webinar in March. Otherwise, you may email for assistance.
