International students currently residing in the United States on a visa other than F-1 or J-1 (such as an H1-B employment based visa) and who are enrolling in distance learning degree programs or certificates, are required to verify their immigration status with International Student Services. All incoming international students have a hold automatically placed on their student record pending immigration verification. Before the hold can be removed, all international students must verify their immigration status by checking in with International Student Services.
Distance learning students living outside the Bryan/College Station area may either physically check in with International Student Services or alternatively, verify their immigration status by electronically submitting the following documents:
- Please have your academic department send an email to email@example.com with the following information.
- Student’s name and UIN
- That the student is currently inside the United States and will be taking courses by distance education.
