E-Verified Employers

What is E-Verify?

E-Verify is an Internet-based system that compares information from an employee's Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to data from U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records to confirm employment eligibility.

More than 409,000 employers, large and small, across the United States use E-Verify to check the employment eligibility of their employees, with about 1,300 new businesses signing up each week.

USCIS Website

USCIS provides lists that include employers and federal contractors enrolled in the E-Verify system. You can access this E-verify list information here.

You can also access the E-Verify Employers Search Tool which allows you to search for a businesses by name, state, ZIP code, and city. There is also some helpful answers under the “Questions and Answers” section.

Please be aware that there are some limitations with these search engines and ISS recommends that if you are applying for a STEM 17 month extension that you verify with the employer their E-Verify status.
